On February 20, 2025, our school held a significant ceremony for the election of new prefects, a momentous occasion that highlighted student leadership and responsibility. After a thorough selection process, the newly elected prefects were organized into their respective batches, each representing a commitment to serve their peers and the school community. 

During the ceremony, the prefects took their oaths of office, pledging to uphold the values of integrity, respect, and dedication. This solemn event was attended by teachers, students all of whom witnessed the prefects' commitment to their roles. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation as the new leaders prepared to embark on their journey, ready to make a positive impact within the school. This election not only marked the beginning of their leadership responsibilities but also inspired other students to aspire to similar roles in the future.

With the guidance of the principal and the English teachers, we have launched an English activity room for students at our school, providing a dedicated space for enhancing their language skills and fostering a love for English.

We are thrilled to open the Primary Activity Centre at St. Cecilia’s Girls’ College, creating an engaging space for our young learners to explore and grow.  

Our heartfelt thanks to the Ex-Cecilians of North America for their generous support in making this initiative possible. This centre will enhance interactive learning and creativity, shaping a brighter future for our students!

We were honored to welcome Honorable Sajith Premadasa to St. Cecilia’s Girls’ College, marking a significant moment in our school’s history. His visit was an inspiring occasion, reflecting his commitment to education and the empowerment of young minds.  During his time at our school, he engaged with students and staff, appreciating the institution’s rich legacy, academic excellence, and contributions to society. His presence motivated our students to strive for success and leadership in their respective fields.  

We express our sincere gratitude to Hon. Sajith Premadasa for his valuable time and encouragement, leaving a lasting impact on our school community.

We are proud to present our talented students who brought Shakespeare’s "The Merchant of Venice" to life in the All-Island Interschool Shakespeare Day Drama Competition! Under the guidance of Mrs. Nirosha, they showcased their exceptional acting skills and dedication to the art of theatre.
